Message of «election readiness» from R. Svigou to the SYRIZA-PS executives

“We give a message of electoral readiness, preparation of the party, in view of the upcoming elections,” stressed the secretary of the Central Committee of “SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance”, Rania Svingou, at the meeting of the N.E. of the party's first Thessaloniki with the participation of members of the N.E., coordinators of Member Organizations and MPs, in the city council hall of Thessaloniki City Hall.

“On May 15, a strong message of support for SYRIZA-PS was given and we believe that this will be expressed in the elections and will pave the way for a progressive government”.

Ms Svingos also referred to the lunchtime meeting she had with workers on the Thessaloniki Metro project and, among other things, stressed:

“We have once again seen the delays due to government choices. Unfortunately, once again our fear of the delay in the construction of the metro has been confirmed, while we expressed our full support for the demands of the workers for decent working conditions and decent wages. We stand by their side, as we stand by the side of every worker.”.

«The citizens cannot cope with Mitsotakis» accuracy", said from Thessaloniki, the secretary of the Central Committee of SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance, Rania Svingos.

«Citizens cannot cope with a policy that turns its back on the lives of ordinary people», Ms.Svingou said: «Elections are coming in the autumn. We are ready for them and we believe that the vast majority of society will support SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance and will pave the way for a progressive government, which will give hope and prospects for the country and its citizens.’.

Ms.Svingou had a meeting with the United Associations of Teaching and Research Staff of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the International University and with representatives of student associations, with whom she discussed issues of higher education. Present at the meeting were SYRIZA- Progressive Alliance MPs Christos Giannoulis, Katerina Notopoulou and Kostas Zouraris.

«Once again we have seen the reaction of the university community to the new Kerameos bill. This is a bill that comes to further degrade and devalue public university education,» said Ms. Svigou and added: «We have once again declared our full support for the struggles of the university community. We reiterated our full support to the Greek university community. If and when it is passed, the next progressive government is committed to repeal it.».

The secretary of the Central Committee of SYRIZA - Progressive Alliance is currently meeting with the board of directors of the Federation of Trade Unions, at their offices, and immediately afterwards she will meet with the management of the Metro workers, at the offices of SYRIZA Thessaloniki. In the afternoon, Ms. Svigou will attend and present at the meeting of the N.E. A’ Thessaloniki of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance with the participation of members of the N.E., coordinators of the Organizations, members and MPs.
