Louradianika or Kato Horion. Hidden beauties of Kythera

From Eleni Charou's blog.

Near Kato Livadi there is an old settlement, Lourantianika, the village of Louranton, which used to be called Kato Horio.

It is worth a visit, among other things, to see the church of Agios Georgios, built in the 16th century by Gerasimos Hieromonk Lourantos and from then until the 20th century the Lourantis continued the priestly tradition of the family. The church has excellent hagiographies of the 16th century.

The second attraction is the cedar forest, one of the most beautiful forests of Kythera with trees that fit the flora of Kythera, an oasis of beauty and tranquility for the walkers of the Kythera trails.
