Letter – intervention by Evangelos Venardos regarding the General Hospital of Kythira and the POEDIN case

On the occasion of Recent intervention by POEDIN to the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, regarding complaints about interventions of the Director of the General Hospital of Kythira in the operation of the Employees' Association, Mr. Evangelos Venardos, The patient allegedly involved in the case sent a letter to the media, addressed to the Minister, responding to the events. The letter is as follows:

Mr. Secretary,
Regarding POEDIN document no. 2740/21-2-25 concerning the Kythira Hospital, I would like to inform you of the following.

1. – I am the patient you are referring to.

2. – POEDIN contradicts itself, because as can be seen from my illegally published application (No. 2699/99), the application was made by me, the victim, not a relative of mine nor my attorneys, for the serious injury to my eye, the fracture to my wife's ankle, etc. Of course, the relevant documents, CDs, etc. from various public hospitals are at your disposal.

3. – Since when have civil servants, who, it should be noted, are paid by taxpayers, had their personal details (full name) kept confidential for acts or omissions?

5. – I will refrain from commenting on POEDIN's insinuations, offensive and intimidating remarks regarding legal actions, security, etc., which show no respect for patients and victims who were not involved in accidents. It is well known and documented who suffered violence, slander, curses, threats, mudslinging, cannibalism, etc., even minors under the age of six.

6. – The publication, through the application, of the patient's details, his address, his telephone number, his signature (an easy way to forge documents) – what is this, Mr. Director of the 2nd Regional Health Authority? Who gave the relevant permission? Where and when? How did it come into the possession of the website? By whom?;

7. – Regarding our hospitalization, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and congratulations to Dr. Panagiotis Boura, the head nurse Maria Kalligerou, and the nurse Alkis Dimou, who cared for us and visited us at dawn for re-examination, blood tests, etc., we sincerely thank and congratulate them, as well as Ms. Giota Moumou the day before at the emergency room.
