The appointment platform will gradually open from today through Monday, April 19 vaccination for COVID-19, for the group of people with underlying conditions associated with an increased risk, aged Ages 18–59. This affects 800,000 citizens. This group will be vaccinated in phases, depending on the disease.
As a reminder, today’s vaccinations are for citizens over the age of 60, those with very high-risk medical conditions, and healthcare workers.
Conditions Associated with Increased Risk
Chronic cardiovascular disease: Congenital heart disease, hypertension with cardiac complications, chronic heart failure, atrial fibrillation, chronic ischemic heart disease, myocarditis, cardiomyopathies, peripheral vascular disease, history of thromboembolic disease
Diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
Morbid obesity: Body Mass Index (BMI) ≥ 40 kg/m²
Chronic respiratory diseases: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (not included in the previous category), interstitial lung diseases (not included in the previous category), severe asthma requiring long-term treatment with oral corticosteroids or biologic agents
Cancer: Diagnosis of solid organ cancer within the last 5 years (not included in Category A, high-risk diseases)
Immunosuppression: HIV infection (with CD4 > 200 cells/μL)
Chronic kidney disease: Chronic kidney disease (not included in Category A), nephrotic syndrome
Chronic Liver Disease: Compensated Liver Cirrhosis
Hemoglobinopathies: Homozygous sickle cell anemia, microcystic sickle cell anemia, homozygous thalassemia
Spleen Disorders: Asplenia (including functional asplenia)
Chronic neurological diseases: Stroke, transient ischemic attack, severe neurological diseases that affect respiratory function, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease, hereditary and degenerative neuromuscular diseases
Serious mental illness: Diagnosis of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder
Severe disability: Individuals with severe disabilities (not resulting from high- or increased-risk conditions, for which vaccination priority has already been established)
Parents or caregivers of children under 16 years of age with serious chronic conditions: Parents or caregivers of children under the age of 16 who, due to their age, cannot be vaccinated themselves and who have undergone a solid organ or hematopoietic cell transplant, are on a waiting list for an organ transplant, are undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, as well as children suffering from cystic fibrosis, solid organ cancer (up to 12 months after the end of treatment), hematologic cancer (up to 3 years after the end of treatment), chronic respiratory disease requiring home oxygen therapy, severe combined immunodeficiency, Down syndrome or other very serious conditions meeting clinical criteria.
Please note that on Wednesday, April 21, in accordance with the National Vaccination Committee’s priority list, the platform will open so that educators and citizens in the 55–59 age group can schedule appointments.
Next, on Saturday, April 24, the platform will open so that people in the 50–54 age group can schedule appointments.
Vaccination appointments can be scheduled in the following ways: If citizens have registered for electronic prescription services, via text messages (SMS) from 13034, directly by citizens logging into the emvolio.gov.gr platform, at a KEP or a pharmacy.
