On Friday 24 March an exhibition of photographs entitled «The Collection of the Evzones», which were taken by the Greek-Australian photographer, Nikos Bourdaniotis, husband of Irene Samiou of Kytheria.
Nikos Bourdaniotis first came into contact with the Euzones when a detachment of the Presidential Guard went to Sydney in 2016 to participate in the ANZAC Day commemoration. Nikos Bourdaniotis was granted access to the daily life of the Euzones for historical and archival purposes for seven years. The exhibition was part of Greece's celebrations of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and was held under the auspices of the A.E. of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Kythiraikos Association of Athens, after an official invitation of the photographer, attended the opening, where they had the opportunity to congratulate him and offer him, as a souvenir, the album with the flora of Kythera.
