Ο Kythira Association of Athens participated, as every year, in the events organised by the the Ionian Confederation for the Anniversary of the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece.
On Saturday, May 18, in the morning, members of the Board of Directors and many Kytherians attended the Doxology that was held at the Metropolitan Church of Athens. Then, at the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, at Syntagma, after the laying of wreaths, the dance group of the Kythiraikos Association presented, for the first time, Kythiraikos dances, delighting the crowd, from Greeks and foreigners, that had gathered. .
The anniversary events were completed on Sunday 19 May, in the afternoon, with artistic events in the hall of the Literary Association «Parnassos», in which Kythera was represented by the dance group of the Kytheraikos Association, which danced Kythiraean dances and received the warm applause of our fellow countrymen from Epirus.
The Board of Directors of the Kythiraikos Association of Athens congratulates the Ionian Confederation for this year's excellent event and thanks all the Kythirian compatriots and friends, who honored us with their presence, once again.
