True to tradition and upholding a custom that has been observed for more than six decades, the Kytheraiki Brotherhood of Piraeus - Athens invites its members and friends to the Sunday 18 May 2025, on 9:00 a.m., to participate in the Divine Liturgy that will be celebrated with bread-breaking in Church of Panagia Myrtidiotissa in Neo Faliro, in his honor Saint Theodoros, patron saint of Kythira.
The celebration takes place every year in Attica on the first Sunday after May 12, keeping alive the connection between Tsirigotans everywhere and their roots, as well as with the local saint, whose memory is particularly honored on the island.
After the Divine Liturgy, attendees will have the opportunity to taste Kythira-style bread, coffee, and traditional sweets in the Association's event hall (7 Navarino Street, Piraeus), in a warm and welcoming atmosphere that blends local tradition with the lives of the Kythirians living abroad.
The Kythira Brotherhood thus continues to be a living embodiment of culture, faith, and collective memory, while preserving the traditions and religious observances that are part of the island’s identity.
