Earlier, speaking to ERT, EODY President Panagiotis Arkoumaneas said that plans for mass rapid testing will soon include hospitals and health centers, while mobile testing units continue their work in Northern Greece, with their next stops being Komotini and Drama.
"Let's see in the coming days if we can at least stabilize the situation, especially in Northern Greece," said Mr. Arkoumaneas, insisting on pointing out that if the transmitters are set to 10%, the dispersion they cause reaches 80%.
Regardless of the test results, anyone identified as a close contact must observe a mandatory 14-day quarantine, he emphasized once again.
In Northern Greece, assessments are being conducted, and in some areas, students are also being tested, he said, explaining that, as stipulated in the protocol, a risk assessment is carried out to determine whether or not it is a case of co-infection.
«Our priority is to protect the healthcare system, particularly vulnerable groups,» Mr. Arkoumaneas emphasized.
