Coronavirus - Hairdressing salons: Changes from Saturday 6 November for the unvaccinated

Fully vaccinated, 14,75% of those admitted to hospitals in the country - In a total of 16,050 deaths since the start of the pandemic, 95.4% had an underlying disease and/or were aged 70 years or older.

The new measures, which will start to be implemented from Saturday, also bring changes to hairdressing salons. For employees who have not been vaccinated, there is now an obligation to carry out two rapid tests or molecular tests per week, while for customers who have not been vaccinated, the an obligation to demonstrate a negative rapid test or molecular test.

According to Mr. Plevris, the new measures will only affect citizens who have not been vaccinated against Covid 19.

As the Minister of Health pointed out, in the hairdressing salons the unvaccinated workers will henceforth have the obligation to conduct two rapid tests or molecular tests (PCR) per week.

Similarly, for unvaccinated customers, the obligation to demonstrate negative rapid test or molecular test (PCR).

The new measures against coronavirus applicable from Saturday 6 November

  • Mandatory two laboratory tests (PCR or rapid test) per week for all unvaccinated workers in both public and private sectors, at their own expense.
  • Negative rapid test for unvaccinated citizens in order to enter public services, banks, shopping centres, hairdressers (activities not considered necessary).
  • Excluding food stores (surer market), pharmacies, churches.

The «Black Tuesday» of Covid 19 cases

It is recalled that on Tuesday (02/11), the EODY announced the following:

«The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 6.700, of which 16 were identified following checks at the country's entry gates.

The total number of cases is 754,451 (daily change +0.9%), of which 50.8% are males. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 143 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,568 are associated with an already known case.

The new deaths patients with COVID-19 are 59, while a total of 16,050 deaths have been recorded since the beginning of the epidemic. 95.4% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

The number of patients hospitalised intubated are 434 (60.4% men). Their median age is 64 years. 79.5% has an underlying disease and/or is 70 years of age or older.

Among the patients hospitalized intubated, 370 (85.25%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 64 (14.75%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,324 patients have been discharged from ICUs.

The admissions of new patients Covid-19 in the hospitals of the territory are 321 (daily change +28.92%). The average admission rate for the seven-day period is 286 patients.

The median age of cases is 38 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years) with underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.»
