The number of new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19-19 recorded in the last 24 hours in Greece total 1,606, of which 9 were identified following screenings at the country’s entry points.
The total number of cases stands at 297,086 (daily change +0.5%), of which 51.4% are men. Based on confirmed cases from the last 7 days, 50 are considered travel-related, and 2,531 are linked to a previously known case. There were 76 new deaths among Covid-19 patients, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 8,961. 95.61% of the deceased had an underlying medical condition and/or were 70 years of age or older.
The number of patients currently hospitalized and on ventilators is 781 (63.1% men). Their median age is 67 years. 82.7% have an underlying medical condition and/or are 70 years of age or older. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,870 patients have been discharged from ICUs. Admissions of new COVID-19 patients to hospitals nationwide total 539 (daily change: +17.17%). The seven-day average of admissions is 530 patients. The median age of confirmed cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
