The new laboratory-confirmed cases of covid-19, recorded in the last 24 hours by the EODY, are 2,925, of which 6 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 509,596 (daily change +0.6%), of which 51.2% are males. Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 141 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 1,938 are associated with an already known case.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 191 (62.8% men). Their median age is 64 years. 82.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,836 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
New Covid-19 patient admissions to hospitals in the territory are 207 (daily change +7.25%). The seven-day average admission rate is 175 patients. The median age of cases is 40 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
The new deaths of Covid-19 patients are 21, with a total of 13,048 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.2% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.

Samples that have been tested: As of January 1, 2020 to date, a total of 5,882,813 clinical specimens have been tested in laboratories that perform testing for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically report the total number of specimens they test, while 7,456,887 specimens have been tested by Health Units and HOSPITF Rapid Ag testing teams. The seven-day average is 92,498 sample checks.
Self-tests: by 05 August 2021, 30,976,493 self-diagnostic test result declarations have been recorded electronically, while 892,299 people have been retested.
Mass Sampling EODY: On 05 August 2021, 140 sampling actions were carried out by the EODY's Mobile Health Teams (MHSTs), in which 38,156 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 481 positives (1,26%) were detected.
