The new laboratory-confirmed cases of covid-19 recorded by the EODY in the last 24 hours are 2,512, of which 7 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 219,521 (daily change +1.2%), of which 51.6% are males. Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 57 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,082 are associated with an already known case.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 545 (67.5% men). Their median age is 68 years. 84.2% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,482 patients have been discharged from ICUs. The admissions of new Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 444 (daily change -4,31%). The seven-day average admission rate is 430 patients. New deaths of COVID-19 patients are 52, with a total of 7,038 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.8% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 105 years), while the median age of deaths is 79 years (range 0 to 103 years).
From 1 January 2020 to date, in laboratories that perform testing for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and that systematically report the total number of samples they test, a total of 3,910,466 clinical samples have been tested, while 1,927,329 samples have been tested by Health Units and HODY Clinics that perform Rapid Ag testing. The seven-day average is 43,331 sample checks.
