New Year's Cake Cutting for Kythirians in Athens

The event for the cutting of the New Year's pie of Kythira has been announced, which will take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025. The event will take place at the Cultural Center of the Holy Temple of Panagia Myrtidiotissa in Alimos, immediately after the end of the Divine Liturgy.

The Divine Liturgy will be presided over by Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira and Antikythira, who will give his blessing for the new year, while his presence is expected to give a special spiritual and cultural dimension to the event.

The event is organized through the collaboration of many organizations working to preserve and promote the heritage and culture of Kythira, such as:

• The Kythira Brotherhood of Piraeus – Athens

• The Kythira Association of Athens

• The Kythira Studies Society

• The Kythira Foundation for Culture and Development

• The Union of Antikythians Everywhere “Saint Myron”

• The Cultural and Beautification Association of the Kythira Area of Alimos “Myrtidiotissa”

The event is an important occasion for the people of Kythira living in Athens and the surrounding areas, giving them the opportunity to meet, exchange greetings, and share moments of joy and warmth.
