On-site inspection of the damaged provincial road network in Epidaurus – Kalloni, which was hit by the severe storm Daniel last September, was conducted by the Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, accompanied by the Deputy Regional Governor of the Islands, Yiannis Voutsinas, and the Mayor of Troizinia-Methana, Tasos Mouyios. The Regional Governor of Attica was briefed on the sections of the road that had sustained damage—following the landslides and cracks in the road surface caused by the severe weather—— and made the permanent resolution of the problem a top priority. At the direction of Nikos Hardalias, a technical meeting of the Attica Region’s departments was scheduled within the coming week to expedite immediate repair work and swiftly restore traffic flow on all affected sections of the road network.
As the Regional Governor of Attica noted:
«The need to repair the damage is urgent. Four whole months have been wasted for no reason, which is unacceptable. Whatever is technically feasible will proceed without further delay so that the road can be reopened to traffic immediately, ensuring absolute safety for residents and visitors to the area.».
