The fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in Lichnaftia, Tinos, was brought under partial control this morning.
It should be noted that reinforcements arrived on the island that evening from Attica, Andros, and Syros, as the flames were moving toward the settlements of Lichnaftia, Agia Varvara, and Fero, which were placed on standby for evacuation; however, according to the Fire Department, there were ultimately no problems for the residential areas.
Firefighters remain in the area in case the fire flares up again, while an investigation into the cause of the fire is being conducted by a team from the Arson Crimes Division, which traveled to Tinos on the orders of the Fire Department chief.
