The Regional Governor of Attica and President of the Athens Medical Association, George Patoulis welcomed the President of the Greek Medical Association of Melbourne Ms. Marini Pirpiris, a few days ago at the Regional Authority offices.
The discussion focused on the possibilities of expanding their cooperation and launching joint actions for the further development of medical tourism in Greece, as well as the World Congress of Diaspora Doctors and Bioscientists, which will take place in Melbourne on November 17–20, 2022.
The meeting was attended by the First Vice-President of the Global Doctors Institute, Dr. Konstantinos Pantos (online), the Second Vice-President, Dr. Konstantinos Kouskoukis, Dr. Fotis Patsourakos, Treasurer of the GDHI (online), and the Secretary General of the Global Doctors Institute, Dr. Antonis Polydorou.
The President of the Greek Community of Melbourne, V. Papastergiadis, also participated online.

Mr. Patoulis referred to the need for close cooperation between all Greek Medical Associations of the Diaspora, coordinated by the World Hippocratic Institute of Physicians, as agreed in a previous teleconference of Greek medical associations abroad.
He also stressed the need for foreign universities to collaborate with Greek universities, particularly medical schools, through student exchanges and the creation of postgraduate programs, and stressed the importance of the participation of Greek communities abroad in the development and implementation of the above programs and the development of medical tourism in our country. He also highlighted the importance of the World Congress of Greek Doctors and Bioscientists, to be held in Melbourne in November, for spreading the ideas and spirit of Hippocrates throughout the world and for strengthening maintaining and strengthening relations between the Greek diaspora and the National Center of Greece.
At the same time, he suggested to the President of the Medical Association of Melbourne, Mr. Marine Pirpiris, with the help of the President of the Greek Community, Mr. Vasilis Papastergiadis, to participate and assist, together with a team of distinguished doctors from Australia, in the Hippocratic Oath, which will take place with international participation on Saturday, October 22, at the Asklepieion of Kos, in collaboration with the World Hippocratic Institute of Physicians, the International Hippocratic Foundation of Kos, the Municipality of Kos, and other organizations.
The President of the Greek Doctors of Melbourne, Mr. Marinis Pirpiris, and the President of the Greek Community, Mr. Vasilis Papastergiadis, committed to achieving these goals through universities and with the help of the Australian Government, emphasizing that they will contribute vigorously to the promotion of all issues that are in the interest of Hellenism.
The First Vice-President of the World Hippocrates Institute, Dr. Pantos, highlighted the value of assisted reproduction programs for Greece and medical tourism and emphasized Patouli's support for these programs.
The Second Vice-President of the World Hippocrates Institute, Professor Constantinos Kouskoukis, focused on the value of thermal tourism and the World Congress of the Academy of Thermal Medicine, which will take place on October 8 & 9 October in Kamena Vourla.
Dr. Fotis Patsourakos referred to the need to secure as many sponsors as possible in order to enable more doctors and bioscientists to attend the World Medical Congress of Expatriates in Melbourne.
Finally, Dr. Antonios Polydorou referred to the close and excellent cooperation between the World Hippocratic Institute and all the Medical and Biomedical Associations of the Diaspora, the history of the Conferences of Doctors and Bioscientists of the Diaspora, and stressed that it is useful for expatriate doctors and bioscientists to know their history and their enormous contribution to Hellenism through the World Conferences that they started many years ago with the participation of hundreds of doctors and bioscientists. He also stressed the importance of the swearing-in ceremony of outstanding doctors in Kos, which this year, on the initiative of the Regional Governor of Attica and President of the Athens Medical Association, Georgios Patoulis, and the President of the International Hippocrates Foundation of Kos, former Minister Aristotelis Pavlidis, will be international in character with events lastingweek. He also pointed out that the dissemination of the Hippocratic spirit and ideas is a priority for the Regional Governor and President of the ISA, Georgios Patoulis, and mentioned that a new meeting is expected with the Minister of Health of Cyprus, Mr. Michalis Hatzipantelas and the President of the Cyprus Medical Association, Dr. Petros Agathangelou, in order to implement all our programs with the help of the diaspora in Cyprus.
