Following a call from the residents of Pitsinianika, we went to the «Markesakia» area to investigate the serious water leak near the well. What is concerning is not only the loss of this precious resource, but the fact that, according to residents’ accounts, the municipality’s administrative staff has been aware of this for 20 days, yet there has been no response.
How much more indifference can the municipal government possibly show?;
While residents in other communities have been without water for more than 10 days, no one in the municipality seems concerned about the constant leaks and the wasted water.
We urge all our fellow residents to contact us so that we can bring to light the problems they face in their neighborhoods and villages.
Since the mayor isn't interested in solving these problems, let him at least be bothered by the fact that his incompetence is being made public.
Development comes from society, and they have left that society at the mercy of others.
In light of this incident, and because we are constantly receiving complaints from residents about the municipality’s lack of response, we would like to inform you that we are launching the “Citizen Hotline.” This initiative will be in effect immediately and will continue once we assume leadership of the Municipality of Kythira, so that every resident can contact us directly regarding everyday issues and needs.
It will include telephone and email communication for immediate and day-to-day needs.

P.S. 1. We hope that municipal employees won’t be blamed for this as well. This indifference on the part of management is a permanent and systemic decision made by elected officials.
P.S. 2. Photo 3 shows a spot a little further down the main road network. The depth of the hole is not merely a pothole but something far more alarming—a dangerous spot that makes you afraid to even approach it. An image that, unfortunately, symbolizes not only the deterioration of the roads but also the indifference of the municipal authorities.
