The Ministry of Digital Governance is proceeding with the implementation of the project «Modernization of the Citizen Service Centres», which concerns the Citizen Service Centres throughout the country.
According to an announcement by the Ministry, this is a project that has been included in the «Greece 2.0» project and is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Fund. In this way, the KEPs will offer even more and better services not only to citizens, but also to businesses, actively supporting the development of the country.
Specifically, the first stage of the project was recently completed with the submission of the agreement of the Finance Committees of the municipalities in order to be included in the project «Modernization of the KEPs». The project includes the complete renovation of the KEPs based on specific specifications and the upgrading - replacement of the logistical equipment.
In particular, municipalities will receive funding for the following actions:
The renovation of existing KEPs with a uniform corporate image (new logo, colour schemes, interventions for accessibility for the disabled, etc.)
The supply for upgrade/replacement of computers
The supply for printer upgrade/replacement
The supply of tablets to be used by the employees of the KEPs
The supply of tablets for the evaluation of the services of the CCP by citizens
The supply of an electronic priority system (in the most frequented KEPs)
The action, stresses the ministry, was designed and implemented with the cooperation of the Minister of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis and the Deputy Minister of Digital Governance Thodoris Livanios with the President of KEDE and Mayor of Trikkaion Dimitris Papastergiou. The total budget of the project is 43.423.335,04 € of which 30% will be paid directly to the beneficiary municipalities as an advance and the remaining amount depending on the progress of the works.
«Since July 2019, the Citizen Service Centres have been constantly expanding and upgrading their operation, with the aim of becoming the only point of physical contact between the citizen and the public sector, i.e. the citizen can complete his transactions with all public institutions through the KEPs. In addition, thanks to their digital upgrade and modernization, they provide the possibility of service both with physical presence and with video call, while in addition, they also receive digital applications through www.gov.gr,» the Ministry of Digital Government noted in its statement.
