Andreas Nomikos, known as “feather”, passed away on Saturday morning (06/11) at the age of 84, in a private clinic where he was hospitalized.
Andreas Nomikos, born in 1937 in Lemnos, better known as “fterou”, was a street vendor in Athens. He sold feathers for dusting and shouted in a small voice “feathers...and feathers”. He was a picturesque figure in Athens for over 50 years, since the 1960s, and the expression ’feathers... and down« has remained a classic.
He used a small voice and antics to advertise his merchandise, for which he was considered a homosexual. He had three children. As an actor, he had appeared in many comedies and in several of them in the role of a feather salesman or as an effeminate.
