Starting today applications for the additional 6.500 places of the employment programme long-term unemployed 55-67 years old, total a budget of EUR 123 million.
The aim of the programme is to long-term recruitment (12+ months) unemployed, aged 55-67, in positions full-time. The duration of the programme is 12 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months and a monthly subsidy of 75% of salary and social security contributions, up to 750 € monthly.
The 10,000-seat programme started in September 2017, but by July 2020 coverage was quite low as recruitment was no more than 1,500. The programme was strengthened and improved in July 2022 and since then all 8,500 positions have been covered. With the increase of 6,500 positions, the improved program will have offered a total of 15,000 positions.
The programme involves organisations from a wide range of public administrations. Indicatively, it should be mentioned that a number of Public Legal Entities (such as Municipalities, Regions, Insurance Funds, Hospitals, Social Welfare Centres, etc.) and Municipal Enterprises have been included in the programme, throughout the whole territory.
