After Easter, the online platform for submitting this year's tax returns will open, and the deadline will be 31 July.
This was stated by Finance Minister Christos Staikouras, noting at the same time that the tax deduction for the payment of the tax until the end of July is increased to 3%. While, those who submit returns in August will not be considered late, but will have to pay a double instalment at the end of the month (as last year) and the number of instalments will be 8.
Speaking on OPEN television, the minister said that the issue of freezing the presumption of living expenses for certain categories of citizens is being discussed with the institutions - and decisions will be announced this week -. In particular, it will be about:
* Freelancers who have been affected
* Employees who are on parole
* Employees are in the program «SYN- WORK»
* Property owners whose rents have been «cut».
The non-counting of presumptions in the determination of the tax is being considered, provided that in one of the two previous years they were not taxed under the presumption system.
With regard to the 30% limit for expenditure through electronic receipts, Mr.Staikouras said that a solution will be decided (in consultation with the institutions), again for the aforementioned categories, in the direction of «relief». He added that the 80% of taxpayers have collected the required number of electronic receipts and do not face a tax «penalty» issue.
Finally, for the «refundable advance 7», he said that the turnover reduction criterion for 2020 will apply, which aims to better record the affected businesses, as many of the applicant businesses have been in previous cycles of «refundable advance». Payments will be made at the end of the month, while, in parallel, an enhanced payment will be made this week for the November 2020-January 2021 claims and those for February-March 2021.
