Press Release
The Board of Directors of our Association wishes you a Happy New Year with health and happiness.
May 2023 be a dynamic year for our island. To this end, following the election of our Association's new Board of Directors, it was unanimously decided to re-prioritize the pending issues affecting the tourism sector in Kythira and to adopt dynamic and effective measures to resolve them.
The first issue, in terms of importance, for tourism and the development of the island in general, is the expansion of Kythira Airport and the overall upgrading of its infrastructure.
It is now commonly accepted that without securing the necessary modern infrastructure to meet the demands of such a competitive product and environment, there is no prospect of progress, not only in the narrow economic sector but also in terms of the quality of life of the inhabitants.
Because this issue continues to be unresolved and counterproductive, resulting in negative consequences for all professional and non-professional sectors on the island, the Board of Directors of our Association has decided to take immediate action by seeking answers from those responsible for resolving it, while also informing professionals and residents of the island.
Happy New Year!!
With respect
