While departing in the afternoon for Kissamos, the Aqua Jewel ran aground at the breakwater of the port of Diakofti.
According to reports, the ship crashed into the jetty of Diakofti, while the collision was noticed by the passengers.
No more than 10 people were on board the Aqua Jewel.
Until 19:30 the ship remains at the point of impact, while strong west-southwest winds are blowing in the area.
