He issued a public apology to Korina Theodorakaki, the Mayor of Kythira, Efstratios Charhalakis, due to their earlier confrontation on Facebook. In the then confrontation, Mr. Harhalakis had expressed the view, as he says in today's post, that Mrs. Theodorakaki «does not contribute to solving the problem of access to the Parking of River from the ring road». A view, which he attributes to his own misinformation.
Mr.Harhalakis, after pointing out his given appreciation to the family of Mrs.Theodorakaki, announced the moves of the Municipality for the coming period around the plan to open the road with the signed consents of the owners -among them the Theodorakaki family- from the properties of which will pass.

About two years ago in a public discussion via FB with Ms. Korina Theodorakakis I expressed the opinion that it does not contribute to solving the problem of access to the River Parking from the ring road. It is a known problem that the City, through a series of actions and in cooperation with other property owners in the area, has been trying to solve for years, asking for understanding and input to open the relevant access road. Among the affected owners is the Theodorakis family, for whom, due to misinformation, I mistakenly thought that they had no intention of contributing.
Mrs.Korina Theodorakis pointed out that the Municipality had never approached the family with an official request and information about what it seeks to do (plans, consent of other owners, etc.) and indeed she was right! There had been no such formal approach which I found after a long thorough investigation.
So I owe you an apology which I am publishing here.
It goes without saying that, as always, the appreciation for the family and the contribution of the late Stratis Theodorakis remains, and of course has never been questioned, including his contribution to the opening of similar roads in the peripheral road and in Agia Triada, which the family rightly pointed out to me.
The Municipality is planning in the immediate future to officially inform the stakeholders and residents of the area about a series of projects and actions that are underway, including the notification of the road opening plan with the signed consents of the owners of the properties through whose properties the road will pass. Of course, this project requires all the prescribed approvals of the new road works.
I believe that based on this development, the Theodorakis family will be positive in the discussion for the solution of the problem, for the good of the River and our Island as a whole.
