Nikos Androulakis listened to carols from Epirus and Crete at the offices of Charilaou Trikoupis, on New Year's Eve. He welcomed members of the Pan-Epirotic Confederation of Greece, who danced traditional Epirotic dances and presented the President of PASOK - Movement for Change with an Epirotic stick.
«I hope that 2023 will bring positive changes for the country and humanity. Last year, unfortunately, we experienced a war in the heart of Europe with thousands of dead and millions of refugees, but also a new economic crisis. We owe it to ourselves at these times to show the greatest degree of solidarity and consistency. The political system must demonstrate through its actions that it is fighting for the public interest, for the national interest, with realism. I hope that the new year will bring changes and that we will have the strength to serve them for the good of the country,» Androulakis said.
Afterwards, members of the Cretan Association of Cretans of Petroupolis sang Cretan carols to the President of PASOK. «All together we will fight the great battle / and the sun will rise again, all green./ We will fight hard, young and old, / to bring change to Greece again» was the mantinade dedicated to Nikos Androulakis. Small Cretan children won the impressions by dancing Chaniotiko and Maleviziotiko.
