In New Democracy the former minister of PASOK and candidate in 2021 for the leadership of the Movement, as well as the head of the Movement of Democrats, has officially joined, Andreas Loverdos.
As a government briefing reported earlier, the Kyriakos Mitsotakis met today at the Maximos Mansion with Andreas Loverdos and members of his party.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed Mr.Loverdos and the members of the «Democrats» to New Democracy, followed by statements.
«We welcome to New Democracy Professor Andreas Loverdos and members of the Democrats. He needs no introduction, as he already has a long career in politics. While our party has proven that it keeps its doors open to every force that believes in a strong, modern, democratic and European Greece.. Especially at a time of international uncertainty that calls for unity, cooperation and internal political stability. Andreas, good start and good strength,» the Prime Minister said.
«With Kyriakos Mitsotakis and New Democracy, patriotic, reformist, liberal», was the comment of Mr. Loverdos.
It is recalled that in July, Mr.Loverdos had said that from September he would return to the central political scene, announcing his cooperation with a «major party».
