Inflation in Greece is on the rise according to the latest data, with the government remaining a spectator, choosing not to take any substantial measures to relieve households.
Specifically, according to Eurostat, inflation in Greece for December was 3.7% (an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month), while in the euro area it was 2.9%.
It is recalled that according to the same data for Greece, inflation stood at 2.9% in November, 3.8% in October and 2.4% in September.

It is worth noting that in the euro area, inflation in November decelerated to 2.4% from 2.9% in October.
According to Eurostat data, food, alcohol and tobacco had the highest annual rate of increase in December (6.1%, compared to 6.9% in November). This was followed by services (4%, stable compared to November), non-energy industrial goods (2.5%, compared to 2.9% in November).
