High fire risk presents the Kapsali grove, which this year has not been cleared of wild hortα. The same is true for adjacent roads that are uncleared, as shown by the photos published today, with the risk increasing in the neighbouring residences and the hotels.
The grove was thoroughly cleaned 10 years ago with the private initiative of our compatriot Professor of Cardiology Panos Vardas. Since then, although it is an area owned by the local state, i.e. the Municipality of Kythera and under the management of the Property Committee, there has been no clean-up initiative. This year the roads have not been cleaned either. The Municipal Campsite, which has been closed for several years, is uncleaned.
Is the Coordinating Local Civil Protection Body of the Municipality of Kythera aware of the situation in the area and if so what measures have been taken?; We note that prevention is more important than repression.
We hope to immediate solutions and in the long term in a general cleaning plan. Our Capsule can't stay without his grove.
