And the fires are now coming from within the party against Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his recent «excursion» to Parnitha, with the Olga Kefalogianni taking swipes at the Prime Minister on the issue.
«Self-criticism has never hurt anyone», said the MEP of NW speaking on Kontra News and stressed that politicians «must set an example» in terms of compliance with the measures.
«It should not be our priority to discuss the images of the Prime Minister in Parnitha, at a time when we have so many dead and intubated people every day. But I understand that our image, the image of all politicians is put through a sieve, we are judged every day, and indeed, we too must set an example,» Mrs Kefalogianni added.
She went on to say that she also works from home, observing the protective measures. «I am at home and I do all my work from here via the internet and I follow the rules as given to us by the experts», she said.
Regarding the opening of tourism and asked whether it affected the outbreak of the second wave, Mrs Kefalogianni argued that the pandemic situation was not only brought by tourism but by the overall relaxation of the summer, stressing that the effort to deal with it must be common.
