Many questions arise from Ms. Angelopoulou’s statement that the ICUs donated by the «Greece 2021» Committee to the Mitsotakis government remain inactive, at a time when our country has well and truly entered the fourth wave of the pandemic and hospital admissions are rising day by day.
Of course, how are ICUs supposed to function when you don’t have the necessary staff to run them, and you’re even going so far as to suspend National Health System employees, at a time when there are massive staffing shortages?.
Ms. Gianna Angelopoulou-Daskalaki appealed to Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the new Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, from Thessaloniki, where she was visiting, asking that the ICUs donated by the «Greece 2021» Committee to the National Health System.
More specifically, she expressed her surprise that these ICUs remain inactive. «We expected that they would help in this particular situation; even if just one life is saved, that's important.» he emphasized while speaking on «Radio Thessaloniki.». «I call on the new Minister of Health and the Prime Minister to find a solution.», he added.
