The Municipal Party “First the Man” responded today to the press release of the Municipality of Kythera in which it states the misleading and divisive operation of the Mayor Mr. Efstratios Harhalakis. It also calls for the return to normality in the conduct of meetings of the municipal councils especially after the recent legislative regulation Voridis which provides for it.
Here is the press release:
On the occasion of the recent press release of the Municipality of Kythera regarding the 8η meeting of the city council and the attack once again unleashed by Mr. Harhalakis in our faction and personally to our leader, Mr. Dimitris Panagopoulos, we have to emphasize the following :
Our party supports the creation of the energy community. We were among the first on our islands to publicly express our support for such a move. Our representative on the inter-party committee voted in favour of the issue and voted in favour of it. Well, Mr. Harhalakis had better do it. ensure that all members of his party attend the Board meetings and stop acting in a misleading and divisive manner on such a serious issue.
The Mayor has no problem holding in-person meetings to inform the leaders of the local factions (he even scolds our leader for not attending in compliance with the relevant legislation), he has no problem meeting in the summer at the town hall with all the elected members of his faction in violation of the relevant provisions, but he has a problem holding the meetings of the small economic committee in person and continues to hold them in a roundabout way. I wonder why?; Following Mr. Voridis' recent legislation, in-person meetings for more than seven people are allowed. We protest and will continue to do so, in any way we see fit, until normality is restored to the conduct of town council meetings.
The undersigned
Panagopoulos Dimitris, Stylianos Megalokonomos, Nikolaos Magoulas,
Kalligeros Ioannis, Georgilas Paraskevas
