A particularly important distinction for hygiene and protection measures against COVID-19, which applies and places it among the top 4 airlines in the world, was won in recent days by AEGEAN from Skytrax, the international aviation rating agency and a benchmark for the industry.
In particular, the company received a 4-Star COVID-19 Arline Safety Rating, as it was assessed that from the beginning of the pandemic until today, at every stage of the journey, the highest standards and best practices proposed by the World Health Organization, the ICAO and the IATA to protect passengers and crew.
Skytrax's evaluation process, which is based on an assessment of the actual travel experience, confirms the consistency and effectiveness of the protection measures implemented by AEGEAN, both at the airport and during the flight. By way of example, the Skytrax assessment certifies the contactless and distance procedures during check-in, baggage delivery, passenger embarkation and disembarkation, as well as aircraft cleaning and disinfection, the adaptation of the in-flight food and beverage offer, etc.

SKYTRAX's assessment is carried out by taking into account findings from different flights carried out for each of the airlines assessed and examining the standards applied both at the airport and on board to determine how effective they are in practice.
The assessment at the airport includes the ticket counters and baggage drop-off counters, check-in services, lounges, boarding and disembarkation procedures, baggage claim procedures, etc., while in addition to cleanliness, the measures for keeping distances are also assessed.
In terms of on-board assessment, this includes the cleanliness of the interior surfaces, the use of protective masks and other personal protective measures by passengers and crew, the in-flight services offered, including the provision of food and beverages, etc.
