A new wide-ranging meeting will be held today at 11:00 in Political Protection, under the Minister for Civil Protection Michael Chrysochoidis and the Deputy Minister of State for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, Niko Hardalia, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Interior responsible for Local Government, Stelios Petsas and the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister to the Minister of State, Theodore Lebaniou.
The purpose of the meeting is the assessment of the situation so far, given the heavy snowfall that is affecting both the Attica, as well as the coordination of all relevant bodies to best address the problems that arise, especially with regard to transport.
The meeting will also be attended by the Secretary General of Civil Protection Basil Papageorgiou, the national civil protection commander, Theodosius Dimakogiannis and the Director General for Coordination of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, Phoebus Theodorou.
In addition, representatives from the Regions of Attica, Central Greece and Crete, representatives of the Greek Police, the Fire Brigade, the Emergency Medical Services, the National Meteorological Service (EMY), as well as the concessionaires of the National Road Network Management and DEDDIE will participate.
