Her book is now available Polymnias Regou, who is originally from Kythera. After thanking her for her kind words about Kythera.News, we’ll mention that in her book she writes about the beauties of our island. Furthermore, the author, wishing to include dialogue featuring phrases and words from Tsirigo, discovered the «Tsirigotiko Lexicon,» by N. Sarantakos on our website, and so the elderly heroine in «Warriors on the Roof», uses many words drawn from that source. We look forward to reading your book, Mr. Regou! Here is the book presentation:
1936. The new year brings the heroes together. Their lives become entangled in situations and adventures based on real events of the time. They move through neighborhoods and buildings that actually existed. Katsipodi, Dourgouti, and Hasani serve as the backdrop for their story. It all begins and ends at the home of Anastasis and Chrysoula, which resembles a small castle. Arched windows, balustrades with gargoyles, and instead of roof tiles, battlements on the roof.
This unique serrated design, reminiscent of a medieval parapet, makes it stand out from a distance.
The heroes travel to Kythira, Ioannina, and Alexandria, but they always return to their hometown, Palaio Faliro.
Respect for one's mother, abuse, exploitation of the vulnerable,
speculation, the years of the Resistance, the executions in Kaisariani, the venues and forms of entertainment of the era, the typical profiles of men and women, emigration in search of better living conditions, escape, selfless love, and the power of money—these are just some of the themes that unfold.
Does murder, in the end, lead to the ultimate sin—or does it bring redemption?;
