Ensuring the necessary vaccine doses in time for tourism workers, strengthening the ESY with epidemiological surveillance mechanisms and an initiative for a common health protocol across Europe, proposes the SYRIZA - P.S., in a statement - response issued to the government spokesman.
The statement reads:
If the NW had heard the proposals of SYRIZA, the industry of Tourism would be in much better shape, and would not be in the current worrying situation.
These proposals concern a a generous internal tourism programme by subsidising workers and the unemployed, supporting enterprises with non-repayable aid and paying the social security contributions of workers in the sector by the state.
Right now the Government is required:
1) take initiatives for a common health protocol (tests, digital tracing facility, protection and isolation measures) across Europe,
2) ensure the supply of the necessary doses and speed up the vaccination process so that tourism workers are vaccinated in time,
3) to strengthen the ESY and the epidemiological surveillance mechanisms to ensure that tourist destinations are also health-protected.
It would be good if Mr Mitsotakis did not open an untimely debate, such as the one on the vaccination certificate, which makes no sense when many people do not have and, possibly until the summer, will not have access to the vaccine.
We would recommend to Mr. Tarantil, therefore, to stop wondering about SYRIZA's positions and, instead, try to explain to us what the government's plan is to avoid another disastrous summer for the tourism sector.
