Gradual rise in temperature up to 17-19 degrees by Sunday

The gradual departure of cold air masses during the next few days will result in a gradual rise in temperatures in Greece until Sunday 19/2.

According to the latest forecasts of the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr, on Saturday and Sunday the mercury will reach 17-19 degrees Celsius in some places.

The maximum temperatures expected in the coming days are in Athens up to 17-18 degrees on Saturday and 16-17 on Sunday, in Thessaloniki up to 16-17 on Saturday and 17-18 on Sunday, in Patras up to 13-14 on Saturday and 14-15 on Sunday, in Heraklion up to 16-17 all weekend and in Larissa up to 17-18 degrees all weekend.

The weather on Thursday

On Thursday, local clouds are expected in the west, east and northeastern mainland, in the Peloponnese, Aegean, Evia and Crete. Visibility will be locally limited until the morning and towards the end of the day.

The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from -7 to 11 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from -4 to 13, in Thessaly from -2 to 15, in Epirus from -2 to 15, in Sterea from -1 to 14, in the Peloponnese from -1 to 16, in the Ionian Islands from 2 to 14, in the North and East Aegean Islands from 1 to 12, in the Cyclades from 5 to 13, in the Dodecanese from 6 to 13 and in Crete from 3 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the North Aegean will initially blow from the north from 2 to 4 Beaufort, but gradually in the western parts of the Aegean Sea will shift to south winds of the same intensity. In the Central and Southern Aegean, winds will initially blow from the north at 4 to 6 Beaufort, but from noon in the western parts of the Aegean Sea will shift to southwest at 2 to 4 Beaufort, while in the eastern parts they will weaken and blow from the north at 3 to 5 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from variable directions up to 3 Beaufort.

In Attica local clouds are expected at times. Winds will initially blow from the north up to 3 Beaufort, but from the afternoon they will shift to southwest winds of the same intensity. The temperature in the centre of Athens will range from 5 to 14 degrees Celsius.

In the prefecture of Thessaloniki local clouds are expected at times. Winds will blow from variable directions up to 3 Beaufort. Visibility will be locally limited until the morning and towards the end of the day. The temperature in the centre of Thessaloniki will range from 4 to 13 degrees Celsius.
