His belief that the vaccine against COVID-19 is both a good individual choice and a public good, expressed the Secretary of the MPA25 Yanis Varoufakis, after his vaccination at the hospital «Evangelismos».
At the same time, the former Finance Minister blamed the Mitsotakis government for «oligarchic practices», which have separated Greek citizens into privileged and non-privileged in the whole vaccination process.
Varoufakis' statement reads as follows:
«I am here today to make a strong statement that the vaccine is both the right individual choice and a public good.
But I feel ashamed that this precious commodity will be the privilege of so few for months because the government, for months now, has ignored our calls to set up a real public network of vaccination and primary care centres.
The vaccine alone is not enough to free us from the pandemic. It also needs liberation from the oligarchic practices of the Mitsotakis government.
