Court of First Instance: «False and slanderous» Kourtakis' posts about the country house

The Court orders the publisher of Parapolitika to delete the post in question and to publish a new post that sets the record straight.

False and slanderous The Athens Multi-Member Court of First Instance ruled on posts by Yannis Kourtakis, journalist and publisher of *Parapolitika*, regarding Alexis Tsipras’s vacation home in Sounion.

The Court upheld, on the merits, the lawsuit filed by the President of SYRIZA PS and orders the publisher of Parapolitika to delete the post in question from his Twitter account and to post a new message setting the record straight.

More specifically, the court ruled that the allegations made by the publisher of the newspaper *Parapolitika* were false and defamatory regarding the alleged «move» Alexis Tsipras's journey from Kypseli to Sounion, regarding the alleged purchase of a luxury villaregarding an allegedly extravagant renovation by a major construction companyregarding the alleged backdating of construction «rental agreement,» emphasizing in particular that that what the defendant published were «fabrications» and that he did so «knowing they were untrue.».

The Court orders Yiannis Kourtakis to:

a) to unpost – delete from his personal Twitter account mentioned above, the post in question with the following content: «It’s too late to draw up a lease agreement. Just as it’s relatively late for them to figure out how the monthly rent was paid. And what’s difficult is for them to hide the construction company that paid for the property’s repairs. Overall, it’s too late.».

b) Post (tweet) on his personal account with the following text: «Publication of the decision by the Athens Multi-Member Court of First Instance, which partially upheld the lawsuit No. 3857/156/2021 filed by Alexis Tsipras against me’, with photographic files attached to this post, on which the full reasoning of this decision will be recorded within 15 days of its service to him.

In fact, the Court ruled on the decision provisionally enforceable and in the event of failure to comply, the defendant «He is sentenced to a fine of five thousand euros and three months of imprisonment.».

As for the compensation portion, Alexis Tsipras did not pay the full court fee, since His desire was to restore the truth and secure his moral vindication, not to financially ruin the journalist.

It should be noted that in the corresponding case against the journalist Giorgos Papachristou The court has not yet issued its ruling on the lawsuit filed by the president of SYRIZA-PS
