Eurostat: inflation at 12% in Greece in June

Annual inflation in the euro area is expected to reach 8.6% in June 2022, up from 8.1% in May, according to a preliminary estimate by Eurostat, the European Statistical Office.

Looking at the main components of inflation in the euro area, energy is expected to have the highest annual rate in June (41.9%, compared to 39.1% in May), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (8.9%, compared to 7.5% in May), non-energy industrial goods (4.3%, compared to 4.2% in May) and services (3.4%, compared to 3.5% in May).

In Greece, annual inflation is expected to be 12% in June, up from 10.5% in May.

In June, the highest inflation rates in the euro area were observed in Estonia (221 tt3t), Lithuania (20.51 tt3t), Latvia (191 tt3t), Slovakia (12.51 tt3t) and Greece (121 tt3t). The lowest inflation rates were registered in Malta (6.11 tt3t), France (6.51 tt3t), Finland (8.11 tt3t) and Germany (8.21 tt3t).
