While the issue of the extension of the runway at Kythera airport - an issue that Kythera.News dealt with in an extensive report, here and here - , remains unresolved, the landscaping of the main building has been launched, which is expected to correct defects subject to the wear and tear of time, improve the functionality of interiors and to upgrade the aesthetics the main gateway to the island, in a year when Kythera State Airport is preparing to celebrate the «Golden Jubilee», with a series of events throughout 2021.
Projects, with a total budget of 133.920€, have been entrusted to the contractor P. Metal Recycle Unipersonal IKE and will involve «exterior masonry work in the baggage handling area and repair of the metal entrance roof and lightbox at KAKTHO».
