In a tribute to the attractions of the famous Kaladi beach in the northeast of Kythera, the website newsbeast.gr.
In the article entitled «Kaladi: The triple beach protagonist of the summer in Kythera», we read:
«The Kaladi, in Kythera, is one of those beaches that remain forever indelible in your memory. It is no coincidence, in fact, that it is one of the most famous beaches in Tsirigo, as Kythera is otherwise known, with the wild and imposing rocky landscape in combination with the clear waters immediately gain the interest and the positive vote of the island. And although the steps to reach it are more than 100, the crystal clear waters of the sea and the whole seductive setting that characterize it, reward its visitors - young and old alike - with more than enough.
Kaladi, therefore, which could easily be described as a a heaven on earth in Island of Heavenly Aphrodite, is located in the southeastern part of Kythera, relatively close to the town of Chora, and the element that is immediately noticeable on the coast is the characteristic huge rock that seems to emerge from the sea, which is its trademark.
Reed: The imposing stone backdrop with the clear waters
Approximately 125 steps separate the visitor of the island from the aquatic paradise of Kythera, with the crystal clear, turquoise waters. Although their number seems to be a deterrent, they are not a negative factor to avoid being in the watery arms of the coastline. The image, in fact, that one sees once in Kaladi compensates with more than enough for any inconvenience.
In essence it is about three successive beaches, with the middle one -where the huge rock is located- being the largest, and the other two on either side being options for more secluded dives. With pebbles and dreamy waters, fake like a swimming pool, they are ideal for idyllic dives away from the crowds.. The most private one is the one on your right hand, as you see the sea, which you approach through a small cave.
One must be aware that the coast has no no organization and the fact that because of the imposing rock right at its «back», the natural shade is formed relatively early.»
