It is a kind of English pudding, made from stale bread, milk, eggs, raisins, sugar, cinnamon, cognac, lemon zest, chopped almonds and a little butter.
Prescription:
Add to the fire and stir
1 litre of milk
300 g sugar
half a loaf of stale bread soaked in milk
1 small bag of raisins
zest of 1 lemon
a fistful of blanched and chopped almonds
When the mixture thickens and becomes cream, remove from the heat and add 1 cup of cognac, 1 tablespoon of good butter, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon and when it cools, add 5 whole eggs to the mixture. Serve the mixture in a buttered baking tray and bake at 180o until golden brown.
