It received praise from the U.S. and NATO – the EU – Germany, Ukraine’s gratitude, and Russia’s friendship, serving as a conduit for communication between isolated countries and the West, generating enormous revenue (commissions).
It is a NATO member country (Turkey) that illegally occupies one-third of an EU country (Cyprus), threatening a NATO and EU ally (Greece) with a casus belli, and no one is punishing it.
Of course, in the past, the CIA’s Nazis were also forgiven, as was all of Germany, which we are still begging to provide compensation for the war crimes committed against our country. .
Greek public opinion is divided yet again, along lines such as: pro-memorandum vs. anti-memorandum, pro-vaccine vs. anti-vaccine, pro-Ukrainian vs. pro-Russian, clever one-liners, etc.
We don’t see the poverty we’ll all have to pay for (except for the shipping industry). We don’t see that everyone is “taking advantage of us.” We don’t see that we’re begging for alliances, while Turkey is offering them. We don’t see that, in the end, everyone is practically left on their own.
When the bells ring, don't ask for whom they toll. They toll for you (us).
Nothing but sadness for the 12 years we’ve spent dealing with bailouts and the pandemic—but now, above all, for what lies ahead.
