The government's assessment of the management of the bad weather, the readiness of the state mechanism and the person who is most responsible for the chaos and the entrapment of thousands of citizens in Attica are the issues examined in Prorata's new weekly flash survey for Tvxs.gr.
Negative assessment of the government
The vast majority of citizens are not satisfied with the government's management of the bad weather. Specifically, 66% of citizens when asked a question on this issue answer «not at all satisfied», while 22% say «not very satisfied».
By age, across all age groups, the majority of people in all age categories say they are «not at all» or «not very» satisfied. The highest percentage is found in the 17-34 age group (91%). A similar response is given by 88% of citizens aged 35 to 54 and 86 of citizens aged over 55.
Of particular interest is also the position of citizens based on party preference, as the majority of the voters of the New Democracy party also disapprove of the government's management, with a very high percentage of 70%.The 98% of SYRIZA voters and the 94% of those of KINAL declare themselves «Not at all/ Not very satisfied».


The state mechanism is unprepared
In addition, the vast majority consider that the state mechanism was not prepared (87%). In particular, 66% consider that it was «definitely» not sufficiently prepared, while 22% state that it was «probably» not sufficiently prepared.
In terms of age, across all age categories, once again the majority considers that the state mechanism was not sufficiently prepared. The highest percentage is again found in the 17-34 age group (91%), followed by the 35-54 age category with 89% and the 55+ age category with 86%
In terms of party preference, again the vast majority of Southwest voters appear disappointed with 73% stating that the state apparatus was «definitely or probably» not prepared for the management of the bad weather. For those who feel closer to SYRIZA the disapproval rate is almost universal (97%), while for KINAL it is 90%.


Kyriakos Mitsotakis bears the greatest responsibility
Regarding the person most responsible for the chaos that prevailed in Attica with the closure of main roads, the highest percentage is that of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis (33%), followed by the Minister of Civil Protection Christos Stylianides (20%), while the Region, i.e. George Patoulis, and the «private motorway management companies» have a percentage of 16%. Finally, a 9% attributes the responsibility to «drivers who did not take the warnings seriously».
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is attributed the greatest responsibility also on the basis of the age division of citizens. In the age group 17 to 34, 36% attribute the responsibility to the Prime Minister, in the age group 35 to 54 33%, while in the age group over 55 31% attribute it to the Prime Minister.

Based on party preference, the percentages differ from those mentioned above. Citizens who feel closer to the KINAL feel that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Civil Protection share the greatest responsibility, both of them gathering 26%. Among the voters of KINAL, the same percentage of responsibility (17%) is shared by the «private motorway management companies» and the Region of Attica
Those who feel closer to the New Republic consider that the greatest responsibility lies with «certain private motorway management companies» (26%). This is followed by the Minister of Civil Protection (22%) and the Region of Attica (20%), while the percentage of those who believe that some drivers who did not take the warnings seriously are responsible is relatively high (15%). In contrast, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is responsible for only 6%, a percentage lower than those who believe that the closure due to the snow was inevitable.
Finally, regarding the citizens who feel closer to SYRIZA - PC, the majority believes that the Prime Minister has the greatest responsibility (65%), while the Minister of Civil Protection (15%) and the Region of Attica (15%) have the same percentage.
