While there are official complaints about coronavirus-induced intubated patients who are dying outside Intensive Care Units, the coronavirus with the Delta and Omicron mutations and the new sub variant of the latter threaten while the Mitsotakis government continues to refuse to support the NHS.
The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 20,507, of which 59 were detected following checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,762,870 (daily change +1.2%), of which 49.8% are males. Based on the confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 433 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,643 are associated with an already known case.
New deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 108, with a total of 22,476 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.0% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The number of patients hospitalized intubated is 679 (59.2% men). Their median age is 66 years. 81.3% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 548 (80.71%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 131 (19.29%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,964 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The admissions of new Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 467 (daily change -7.71%). The seven-day average admission rate is 512 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
