Duran Duran celebrated their return to the music scene with a party for their new album. The band's 15th album, released on October 22, includes the song «Anniversary,» whose music video features many celebrity lookalikes.
The video was filmed at the historic 11th-century Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, England, and features scenes from a pool party, a living room show with Dolly Parton lookalikes, Sir Elton John, Lady Gaga, Daniel Craig, Brad Pitt, and the Queen of the United Kingdom celebrating the 40th anniversary of the British pop band's founding.
Future Past is Duran Duran's first album since 2015 and is a co-production between the band and Errol Alkan. Mark Ronson and Giorgio Moroder also collaborated on the album, which features Graham Coxon of Blur on guitar, Mike Garson from David Bowie's band on piano, and Lykke Li on vocals.
«Obviously, we knew about the band's upcoming 40th anniversary since we started making music together, but we wanted the song's meaning to be as comprehensive as possible. Having sung and worked together for so long, we really appreciate what «being together» and «staying together» can mean; it's not something we would have thought was worth a song 40 years ago, but we're doing it today! It was also fun to create a song with references to previous Duran Duran hits; it's like Easter eggs for fans to find,» said bassist John Taylor.
