The Deputy Minister of Development and Investment left open the possibility of a limit on SMS to 13033 Nikos Papathanasis.
The high frequency with which people send messages to the five-digit number to get out is worrying the government, which is now considering all possibilities.
“We cannot move in the way we have seen in the past few days, we must adhere to the measures,” Papathanasis said in a television interview with Mega.
Indeed, the government spokesman Stelios Petsas had stated in a briefing of political editors a few days ago that: “It is obvious that this lockdown is not the same as the first one. Several activities are allowed. What we do not want to see is the circumvention of the measures, as for example last night it was found that more than 1 million text messages were sent after 9 p.m. to move 6, i.e. for sports or activities of that kind.”.
For his part, the Deputy Minister Digital Governance Gregory Zarifopoulos, speaking to SKY, revealed that so far more than 4 million messages for travel. However, he noted that this also has to do with the fact that in the first lockdown we had no schools open, no juvenile removals and people were not as familiar with 13033, so in the first phase of the lockdown more people were walking around with travel documents.
