Special bulletin of dangerous weather phenomena issued a short while ago by the National Meteorological Service (EMY). According to this, «the rains and storms that occur today, Tuesday, in many areas of the eastern part of the country and are occasionally strong, will gradually be limited in Thrace, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese and from the evening hours will weaken».
However, as a prognosis it states the following: «A new weather system called BALLOS (BALLOS) will cause new bad weather in the country from Thursday (14-10-2021) and from the west-southwest, with main characteristics:
1. HEAVY RAIN AND RAIN, accompanied in places by hailstorms and occasionally, during the phenomena, by strong gusty winds. The intense phenomena will initially affect the Ionian Sea, the western mainland and Macedonia, and from midday on Thursday gradually the rest of the country.
On Friday (15-10-2021), bad weather is initially forecast throughout the country, but the intense phenomena will weaken from the afternoon hours in the northwest.
On Saturday (16-10-2021) heavy showers and thunderstorms will affect the eastern part of the country, but gradually the phenomena will weaken.
2. Wuthering southerly winds of 7 to 8 Beaufort. In northern Greece from Thursday evening (14-10-2021), northerly winds with the same intensity will prevail, while on Friday (15-10-2021) the southerly winds in the Aegean Sea will probably reach 9 Beaufort.
3. The SENSITIVE DECREASE IN TEMPERATURE in northern Greece by 6 to 7 degrees Celsius».
