O Gikas Hardouvelis takes over as President of the National Bank of Greece.
This decision was taken by the bank's board of directors at its meeting yesterday.
The nomination of Gika Hardouveli was unanimously approved and is expected to take office after the general meeting of the National Bank of Greece, which will take place towards the end of July.
The new President of ETE, who will replace Kostas Michaelides, was appointed as an independent non-executive director and senior independent advisor to the EIB's Board of Directors in July 2019.
Owned by significant experience in banking and finance, and has long experience in senior government positions.
It is professor in Department of Finance and Banking Administration, University of Piraeus and research partner in the Centre for Economic Policy Research London.
