The mess of Aghia Sophia a year after it was opened as a mosque, they are lamenting in the social media Turkish users, who complain that instead of the monument being better protected now that it has become a mosque, as the Turkish president promised, it is not being looked after at all.
Dust everywhere and especially dirt in the shoe boxes where the faithful place their shoes before entering the place to pray, the knobs of the 1500-year-old central gate of the temple have been broken, cables hanging here and there, signs printed on A4 paper to distinguish the areas, are some of the ugly things that visitors to the monument photographed and uploaded to the social media.
